Over the course of two EPs, three albums and countless live shows Amaya Laucirica has established a unique presence in the Australian musical landscape.
In 2008 Amaya released her debut album Sugar Lights. Sugar Lights was critically lauded and resulted in Amaya performing at North by Northeast festival in Canada and was Album Of The Week at 3RRR radio.
In 2010 it was Early Summer that truly defined Amaya’s sound and captured the attention of critics and listeners alike. Early Summer was a feature album on Triple J and led to Amaya performing shows with Blonde Redhead, Mark Lanegan and a national tour with Adalita.
In 2014, Amaya released her third album Sway, which was celebrated with several national tours including shows at MONA, White Night and Melbourne Music week.
In 2015 Amaya relocated to Europe for a year, touring in Spain and Germany and writing material for her upcoming fourth album.
Upon return to Melbourne in 2016, Amaya was awarded a grant from Creative Victoria to record the new album. The album was recorded in October with John Lee at Phaedra Studios in Melbourne. It is due for release later this year.
