Nightnoise - The Parting Tide (Reissue) (1990/1999)

Nightnoise was a music ensemble active from 1984 to 1997. Their original blend of Irish traditional music, Celtic music, jazz, and classical chamber music inspired a generation of Irish musicians. They released seven albums on the Windham Hill label.

The band's most sophisticated album to date uses computer-triggered synthesizers to expand the palette of colors beyond the already impressive acoustic talents of the quartet. The album also includes originals by O Domhnill's sister, Triona, whose abilities on keyboards, whistle, and accordion are second only to her expressive vocals.
