June 1994 we launched High Temperature. A fat juicy hour from a 275 minutes long record setting concert that literally knocked the audience of it’s dancing feet at 4AM., as Doc-O-zone announced. Doc-O-zone, who was so overwhelmed by the musical capacity of Guy Forsyth when he saw him in a hot smoky venue in Austin, Texas, that he started a record label to make his music publicized.
Over the years Guy Forsyth developed to a great artist. Performer of most self-made compositions, singer, guitarist, ukelele, harmonica player, musical saw, name it and he will amaze you. Audiences love Guy. He is a dynamic personality on record, but it is on stage that the thruth comes out: Guy lives to play - the thrill is in the show. His spectacular live shows are meanwhile well known in big parts of Europe, next to, of course, the USA. In 2005 he started his own record label Small and Nimble Records. June 2011 Doc-O-zone died and left the tapes of the recordings at “Metropool” Hengelo in 1993 to Guy. This led to a new partnership between Lizard Discs and Small and Nimble Records from which you have part of the result in your hands.
Red Dress, High Temperature part 2, previously unreleased music of the recordings in 1993, another fat hour of the fizzy show. Unbelievable how the quality sustained during the years. You hear the audience react on the everlasting, uplifting music by Guy Forsyth. You feel the energy splashes of the CD. That’s what you get when you visit a show. Once you have seen him on stage you can’t resist coming back.
Next to Red Dress our co-operation produced a CD with newly written music, the Pleaser, recorded in December 2013 in a cold Austin Texas in the studio of Stuart Sullivan, who for this time again collaborated with Andre Zweers. The same folks who mixed High Temperature in 1993. After years of Roots and Americana back to the Blues. An awesome CD with for the connoisseur hints to the past.
But above all you have to visit his shows!!
