Dieter Kropp's style is based on the blues originals of the forties and fifties of the last century. His unpretentious approach to the genre is captivating. Quite naturally and unaffected. With his own tasteful and captivating way of presenting his music, he has become a permanent fixture in the German blues landscape over the last few decades.
The basic principles are: music handmade, pure and authentic.
Under his leadership, five musicians have come together to make recordings on which you can literally feel the pleasure of making music with every note. The experience of each individual flows into the recordings and the interaction of a well-rehearsed rhythm group makes it a pleasure to get involved in the groove of this music.
The result was a mixture of classic and traditional blues, casual rock'n'roll and wonderfully relaxed Excello Records sound from Louisiana - from the hot-blooded instrumental title "Rummelbummel" to the wonderfully leaned back "Used to myself" with a bundled portion Everyday irony.
With the typical wink and his own mischievous smile, Kropp leans far beyond the boundaries of blues singing on his fourth album in German with a lot of pun and language acrobatics. What began almost fifteen years ago with “Herzensbrecher”, and with its casual boldness and energy that reminded us of the early albums by Westernhagen, Lindenberg and Grönemeyer, has now been consistently continued. Dieter Kropp creates his own place in the music world with his virtuosity and expressiveness both on the blues harp and with his own timbre in the singing, bypassing fleeting trends.
The "German Harpmaster" Dieter Kropp as "anchorman" together with the "Blues Hall Of Fame" member Tomi Leino and his trio from Finland as well as the congenially complementary guitarist Jimmy Reiter! A lot of fun.
