Singer and songwriter Brock Hires' passion for music has never been in doubt. Like a willing veteran, he's been performing for nearly two and a half decades throughout the U.S. West Coast and Canada.
At an early age of 16 months, he began picking up his influences from his great-grandparents (photo at right) and listening to the sounds of George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. When he was four years old, Hires made his first public debut performance at a local grange Christmas party.
By the age of seven, he began taking guitar lessons. Within the next year he joined "Once in a Blue Moon," a local oldies/country dance band.
Through the next several years he continued to purse his musical career and recorded his first album, "Little Cowboy" at the age of Hires would go on to release seven studio albums and numerous singles including "Glad to Live in The USA," "Christmas Lights," The Ballad of Rudolph's Cousin," "Honky Tonk Juliet," and "She Don't Love Me Like She Used To."
Hires, a member of Broadcasting Music Inc. (BMI), has appeared on numerous radio and television programs throughout the Pacific Northwest including KHQ, KVEW, KAPP, KING-5, KREM-2, KSKN, CHET-TV, KRLB, KOMW, KNCW, KZBE, Giant FM, KPQ and the international syndicated radio program "Country Legends In The Making."
In 2020, Hires was named "Entertainer of The Year" by North Okanogan Online Magazine.
Throughout his musical career, Hires has also had the opportunity to meet many industry professionals including Kenny Rogers, Charlie Daniels, Dwight Yoakam, Charley Pride, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, ZZ Top, Neal McCoy, Luke Bryan, Sawyer Brown, Craig Morgan, Tracy Byrd, Terri Clark, Johnny Rodriguez, Blackhawk, Chris Janson, Rhonda Vincent, BlackHawk, Linda Davis, and actors Jack Black and Wayne Fedderman.
He has also had the opportunity to entertain former Washington state gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi and former U.S. Presidential candidate Jay Inslee along with several Washington state Legislative and congressional representatives and senators.
Aside from music, Hires is a national award-winning journalist and weekly entertainment columnist for The Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle.
Hires resides in Washington state where he lives with his wife on a small farm.
