Camille Nelson is a multi-instrumentalist and has been in the music industry for over 15 years, releasing her second studio album, Lead Me Home with Stone Angel Music in August 2017, which debuted at number 8 on the Classical-Crossover and number 11 on the Classical Billboard charts and won Best Christian Album in the 2018 IMEA Awards. She released her third studio album, Sacred Lullabies with Heart Dance Records in August 2019. Camille’s Christmas album, “Acoustic Christmas” will be released worldwide October 23, 2020.
Blending elements of folk, classical and new age music, Acoustic Christmas features relaxed, intricate acoustic guitar melodies of Christmas classics, “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World” and “Still, Still, Still” with special guest vocalists, Yahosh Bonner, Britney Holman, Kimberly Knighton, Cardin Mckinney and Marj Desius.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Camille is the youngest of six musically inclined siblings. Her father was a violist, and her mother was an opera singer – both heavily influencing Camille’s pursuit and interest in music and performance. She lived in Nashville as a touring singer/songwriter while collaborating with several incredible artists, including David Archuleta and co-wrote the song, “Spotlight Down” off his album, “Postcards in the Sky.” Camille creates fresh and kinetic melodies combined with unique guitar percussion. These compositions convey elaborate and heartfelt stories using the entirety of her instrument. Camille draws musical and creative inspiration from her travels abroad. She’s visited more than 70 countries and speaks German and Italian. Drawing from a deep respect for and admiration of diverse global cultures, she integrates a uniquely multicultural perspective into songwriting following years living in South Africa, Germany, Switzerland and Italy prior to and while pursuing her Masters degrees at the University of Utah and Utah State University and later her Ph.D. at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
Camille has run a marathon on all seven continents and currently lives in Switzerland with her sweet husband, their adorable baby boy and little dog, Molly.
