On his album "The Trumpets of Matthias Höfs" the internationally renowned trumpeter Matthias Höfs gives an insight into his private trumpet collection. During his career he has not only collected a large number of modern trumpets and historical models, but also engaged in advancing new construction methods. In cooperation with the Bremen wind instrument manufacturer Thein Brass, a treasure chest was created over the years, which he opens for this album. From the beginnings of the baroque trumpet and Handel's "The Trumpet Shall Sound" to Haydn's trumpet concerto, the Verdi trumpet in the Triumphal March from Aida and jazzy excursions on the flugelhorn: "The Trumpets of Matthias Höfs" attempts to provide a comprehensive insight into the trumpet's sonorous cosmos.
