The famous recording of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos from 1963 by I Musici together stellar soloists of the time: Felix Ayo, Heinz Holliger, Maurice Andre, Severino Gazzelloni and Frans Bruggen.

Among the countless recordings of the Brandenburg Concerts available on the market, recordings ranging from the "romantic" interpretations made in the 1950s to the most rigorously philological interpretations of the last few years, appears this important recording (originally Philips) from 1963.

It is an interpretation on modern instruments, but, as always in the case of musicians, with a reduced instrumental staff and a moderate contribution of philology. Very popular over the decades, this version has long been difficult to find, never reprinted and re-proposed. It is fundamental not only for the fame that surrounds it, but also and above all for the contribution of international soloists who plays in the recording: Gazzelloni on the flute, Ayo on the violin, Holliger on the oboe, André on the trumpet and so on.
