We have an amazing benefit concert, “There’s An Election Going On” with some of my favorite artists around the country, playing Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On and other songs of freedom live from 3rd and Lindsley. Check out the lineup below.
But…I have another surprise for you. Having all of these songs in our bones now, I had to take them into the studio and properly lay them down with the help of some amazingly talented musicians. When sitting down to learn “What’s Going On”, on my way to a protest I broke down crying. The words written 50 years ago rang so true and clear in that moment. I decided then and there I wanted to rerecord the entire album, learn it closely, feel every word, every melody, every instrument. It’s finished, and I can’t wait for you to hear it.
The first single, Mercy Mercy Me, is OUT NOW and the full album drops 10.22. You can listen to the song here or preorder the vinyl below. 100% of proceeds are going to The Equity Alliance.
