Richard Pena - Pandemik (feat. Giovanny Rodriguez, Jesús Colón & William García) (2020)

The young Puerto Rican guitarist, Richard Peña, releases his fourth album entitled "Pandemik" to expose the situations and feelings during the pandemic. Joining him are the talents of the bassist, Jesús Colón; the drummer, William García and the pianist, Giovanny Rodríguez.

The musical proposal is composed of eight original songs in video format, in which jazz, rock, pop and even avant-garde music are fused.

Mantra and The Shed are the two songs composed by the guitarist. In them the piano repeats the same musical phrase, and on it the other instruments evolve. The purpose is to find a state of meditation, and within to reflect on the situations that are occurring.

“I had feelings of frustration, money problems, depression; then rehabilitation, reunion and the development of new ideas and of course happiness. For this reason, I find that Mantra sums up everything, ”explains Peña.

The jazz quartet is inclined to performance art based on the cultural, musical and experiences of the musicians of the genre.
