Luke Marshall - It's A Place I Know (2020)

My debut album 'It's A Place I Know' is a window into the heartbreak, acceptance & change experienced when my feelings and ideas evolved and I chose to face the world I created with honesty and courage.

I recorded the album in my small home studio on my dad's property in country South Australia. I was travelling through Mexico in March when I returned to Australia after my year of touring and travelling was cancelled. It was a true gift to come home and create the album I had been writing for the past year. Each track has a raw and low-fi feel bringing you right into the moment it was recorded.

It's dreamy, intimate & deeply personal - each song explores different feelings, emotions and events in a reflective state of mind. The opening track 'Too Late' deals with the shame of being unfaithful, accepting that I was bi-sexual and telling my partner the heartbreaking news of my actions. 'Peppertree' is a loving moment thinking about what my ex is doing with her life now and what it would be like to rebuild our love again meeting under a Peppertree. 'Heartstrings' touches on what it feels like to have your partner leave you and how lost I was adjusting to the new world.

Each song will have you thinking back to a time where you had to move through confronting times and find new light within yourself to live for.

The track order follows the feelings, events and emotions experienced post break up. It is an album of heartfelt reflections, painful truths & beautiful memories.
