In 2018, Dweller landed with a first album that was well made even if it has never been reviewed in our columns. It must be said that the indie rock quartet of Philadelphia is on its way despite the competition increasingly concentrated in this city. Despite this, they return with their long-awaited successor named Aquarium.
After a very gripping instrumental introduction of the name of “Motor”, Dweller passes the second with sharp and endearing titles which are “Blue Van Black Sky” but also “Donkey” and “Appreciate”. The quartet does not hesitate to give birth to their vulnerability and their ability to tell stories on their psychedelic indie rock compositions that will have enough to give us sensations of all kinds.
One has only to judge touching titles such as "Elliot" where a wink is addressed to the late Elliot Smith as well by the text as by the composition or the powerful and ambitious "Tiber" and the very dark "Fraud" to realize the versatility of Dweller. Aquarium drops the mask with “Parking Lot Puddle” as well as “Drunk” and the final track named “Roses” where the Philadelphia quartet shines for their sincerity and vulnerability that has universal reach.
