10 years have passed since RiLF’s first album, 'Ferris Wheel’, featuring the lovely vocals, simple band sounds, and beautiful string orchestra. Finally, the alternative rock band formed by Calu who is the vocalist of Matryoshka, an electronica unit featuring mysterious sound, and Takahiro Kido and Yuki Murata who are the members of Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring dark cinematic sound, has finished all the processes for their second album 'My Beloved Farewell'.
This album includes two advance-released songs, 'Soraninaru' that is a UK influenced alternative rock and pop music reminiscent of Coldplay and The Smiths, with their own signature heart-achingly beautiful vocal melody, and also 'Count4' that is a new take on shoegazing music made of magnificently violent guitar noise like Sigur Rós and My Bloody Valentine, a solid drum groove which supports the band sound, and a quiet but strong voice. However, the songs worthy of a special mention are new ones composed exclusively for this album. Especially, the eighth track 'Someday We will Find' with the length of over 11 minutes, is a masterpiece of alternative rock and post-rock featuring RiLF's uniqueness; a magnificent orchestral sound woven with strings such as violins and violas, a simple but solid band sound, and Calu's gentle vocal melodies.
As with the past releases, Anoice took charge of playing all the instruments. And, the illustrator, Naoko Okada who also took charge of some artworks for Anoice, Yuki Murata, and Films, created the beautiful illustrations as if they symbolize the album.
