Maria Bader-Kubizek, Anita Mitterer, Christophe Coin, Gordon Murray - Jacob Stainers Instrumente (2013) CD-Rip

This third disc in the collaboration between the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien and paladino music features violinist Maria Bader-Kubizek, two members of the Quatuor Mosaiques and organist Gordon Murray. The string instruments are by the famous maker Jacob Stainer (ca 1618-1683), the music contains Biber’s grand “Rosenkranz” sonatas and Gabrielli’s Ricercare.

Die vorliegende CD-Serie erscheint als Kopro-duktion des Kunsthistorischen Museums Wienund des Labels paladino music und umfasstAufnahmen mit historischen Musikinstrumen-ten der Sammlung alter Musikinstrumente.Die in der Neuen Burg beheimatete Samm-lung besitzt eine bedeutende Anzahl vonspielbaren Musikinstrumenten aller Epochen.Einige dieser Instrumente werden in der vor-liegenden Serie erstmals in ihrer eigentlichenFunktion, nämlich als klingende Dokumenteihrer Zeit, vorgestellt. Besonderen Stellenwertnehmen dabei Musikinstrumente aus demBesitz von prominenten Musikern oder Kom-ponisten ein. Das Repertoire der CD-Serie ist sehr weitgefächert und umfasst neben der Alten Musikim engeren Sinn auch Werke der Romantikund der Klassischen Moderne. BesonderesAugenmerk wird auf die Einheit zwischen derEntstehungszeit des Instruments und demgewählten Repertoire gelegt.This CD series is a co-production of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien and the label paladino music. It presents recordings of his-torical musical instruments from the Collec-tion of Historic Musical Instruments in Vienna. The Collection, which is housed in the NeueBurg, contains a large number of playable mu-sical instruments from all periods. Some ofthese instruments are being presented in thisseries for the first time in their authentic func-tion: as sonorous documents of their age. A special status in the Collection is accordedmusical instruments that were formerly in thepossession of prominent musicians or com-posers. The repertoire of this CD series covers a verybroad range and includes, along with earlymusic in the more narrow sense of the word,works of the Romantic and classic modern pe-riods. Particular attention is devoted to match-ing the period of the instruments to that of thechosen repertoire.
