The conception for this album came from many places, but mostly from...
an incident of sleep apnea, the playful idea of Jacksonville 300 feet underwater, a green light shining through a plant outside of my apartment, Frank Stella’s ​Sinjerli Variations​, drinking six beers a night for three years, ​Sarabande No.1​ by Erik Satie, ​The Late Mattia Pascal​, the dimensions of baseball fields, using water as a way to describe our separation from the world, the music and the spirit of James Yancey, the design language of Seiko, the fallibility of memory, self-referentialism as an operating principle, ground shifting under foot, squeezing the joy out of something, passing time.
