The American indie supergroup which counts David Bazan and TW Walsh of Pedro The Lion in its ranks as well as Jason Martin and Trey Many of Starflyer 59 managed to make a place for itself with an authentic record but lacking little surprise. Will they maintain the level with their successor?
This is to be expected, but Lo Tom remains equal to himself with these eight short but oh so effective indie rock compositions bordering on stadium rock and skate-punk. The riffs fuse everywhere while the galloping rhythms which dress the pieces such as "Start Payin '", rather unifying introduction, but also "Suck It Up" and "Outta Here". David Bazan’s interpretation will not leave us indifferent once again, as will his melodies which fit easily into our heads.
In the end, nothing is to reproach on this second disc doing the job in general with "I Need Relief" but also "No Margin of Error" and "Don't Look at Me" which are authentic and dynamic as they are. love. Only here, time passes and we do not see it after an "In A Van" which leaves us a little hungry. We are hoping for a third longer and tougher disc which deserves to raise the talent of Lo Tom.
