Luciano Ruggieri - Beatitudes (2020)

Drummer Luciano Ruggieri releases his new album, Beatitudes (BlueArt Records, 2020), together with a notable group of jazz musicians from Buenos Aires, Rosario and Santa Fe. The album offers music from various origins, including three traditional music tracks, anonymous creations that were passed down from generation to generation; two compositions by Estonian Arvo Pärt, forerunner of minimalist music; one of the pianist Alice Coltrane, wife of John Coltrane; another by Josquin Desprez, considered one of the main Renaissance composers; as well as an old gospel song, written by Austin Miles.

The album is released in physical format in the first week of September and will be on sale in the main record stores in Argentina. It will also be available on digital platforms such as Amazon, Itunes, Deezer, Google Play and Spotify.

Luciano Ruggieri was born in Rosario and has recorded two albums for BlueArt: Salmo with quintet in 2017 and Lento camino a casa (with his brother, the pianist Mariano Ruggieri), in 2019.
