Philip Catherine, Paulo Morello, Sven Faller - Manoir de Mes Reves (2019) CD-Rip

Philip Catherine and Paulo Morello got to know and appreciate each other at the Burghausen Jazz Festival 2010. In 2017 the two guitar virtuosos founded an intimate and grooving trio together with bassist Sven Faller. The first tour was a resounding success and proved that the chemistry of the band was perfectly balanced. The first album of the trio "Manoir de mes Rêves", named after one of their favourite compositions by the European jazz pioneer Django Reinhardt, will be released in 2018
Much of the group's repertoire comes from Paris in the 1950s and 60s, including compositions by Georges Brassens, Henri Salvador, Django Reinhardt and Eddy Louiss, whom Philip Catherine loved as a young man. Recent material from the repertoire of the legendary Belgian singer Maurane or the famous Bossa Nova "Recado" from 1959 also offer an ideal springboard for the filigree interplay of the three individualists
Philip Catherine is a jazz guitar legend. He already toured at a young age with Dexter Gordon, Jean-Luc Ponty, Chet Baker, Tom Harrell and many other greats. Paulo Morello is considered one of the most interesting jazz guitarists in Europe. He became internationally known with his Bossa Nova Legends project: Together with Grammy winner Leny Andrade or Bossa Nova ancestor Johnny Alf, Morello gave guest performances at the most important European and South American festivals. Morello toured with his trio "Hammond Eggs" with the US musicians Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer. He has also worked with Jimmy Smith, Paul Kuhn, Ivan Lins, Airto Moreira, Larry Coryell and Pat Martino
Sven Faller has made an international name for himself with his melodic style on the double bass. After his studies at Mannes College of Music he lived in New York for many years and shared the stage with numerous well-known artists like Charlie Mariano, Chico Freeman, Bobby Watson, Pippo Pollina or Konstantin Wecker. With his CD "Night Music" and the book of the same name, he has finally established himself not only as a bassist, but also as a composer and author.
