Waveskania ‎- Broken Dream Walls (2019)

Ambient-drone album Broken Dream Walls from Waveskania, Ukrainian musician and sound producer Ekaterina Yan, was released on the label Simphonic Silence Inside. Ekaterina works at the junction of several genres combining intelligent techno, ambient / drone and abstract electronics. Prior to the creation of Waveskania, the author spent 10 years researching various musical genres and trends in art, as a result of which she gained experience in performances, performances, collaborations with various art artists, recording soundtracks for films and releasing her own audio content under another project on independent international labels.

This audio work literally from the first listening is able to create the effect of a dense otherworldly viscous mass, in which its various components are quite well separated, for example, paranoid claustrophobic continuums created by the use of DSP reverberation, or cardiograms of intermittent synth fluctuations, reminiscent of robot dialogues in a digital language known only to them. Nevertheless, the immediate theme of most of the sonic delights on this album is aimed at exploring the relationship between illusion, illusory objects and those who perceive them, creating a heterogeneous outline of the theme of the record from a meditative hypnotic state to visit the unexplored and even sinister astral spaces, which can immerse us in such a constantly present in human life phenomenon as sleep with its abundance of unforeseen events, including light euphoric States or suffocating nightmares. On the other hand, such characteristics of the album lead to the idea of the need to overcome the barriers of sleep and the inevitable awakening as a result of awareness of the properties of illusory matter through its contemplation and meditative reflection on its impermanence.
