The study of Bach’s Cello suites plays a fundamental part in the education of any cellist. in them full use is made of all the registers of the cello. While the technical difficulties increase from the first to the sixth suite, should they become an end in themselves, the possibilities provided by mere technical prowess would soon prove limited.
