Manchester based electronic band Futurecop! have decided to take a big challenge on their next album HOPES, DREAMS & ALIENATION. When you listen to the album, you can feel they are still true to their foundations, which of course is very 80s influenced, with their uplifting vintage synth power chord melodies and sounds from their childhood memories of retro video games, movies and cartoons. Futurecop! have been pioneers of the 80s revival, being even called as the creators of the indie genre dreamwave. However with the HOPES, DREAMS & ALIENATION project they decided to create a sound they have dreamed of making since Futurecop! started, way back in 2007. They wanted to bring out their teenage influences of power pop bands, such as the Get Up Kids, Saves the Day and most of all their favourite all time band Weezer. These bands created their first ever real passion for music and so naturally wanted to one day have these influences in a record. This is shown through the vocalists they chose, the lyrical content and how the tracks feels very innocent, fun yet very emotional and in some places sad. They also mention how they intentionally wanted to make the record more dancier, influenced by their love of the French electronic band Justice. The album is something true to themselves as individuals and showcases their own personal journey of in life and music. Futurecop! have in the past toured the world, released on the label from Fatboy Slim Southern Fried Records or RCA Records, Sony and worked for and with major pop acts like Cobra Starship, Kelly Clarkson, Foster the People and Pony Pony Run Run. They gained huge support from MTV Iggy, VEVO, VICE and dance megastar Tiesto, Diplo or Annie Mac.
