Les Contes D'Alfonsina - Chapitre I (2020)

Teramo, 16 July 2020. Record debut of the Italian-French quartet Les contes d’Alfonsina. The Manouche-inspired project brings together the musical legacies of the four musicians - the Salento singer Sofia Romano, the clarinetist Hugo Proy, the violinist Frédéric Gairard and the guitarist Marco Papadia - in search of a hybrid identity between gipsy jazz and French song, exoticism Mediterranean and modernity. The path of real re-appropriation of the repertoire takes shape in a personal style, in emotionally tense atmospheres and in harmonic and rhythmic choices sometimes unusual compared to the pure tradition of Les contes d'Alfonsina, Chapitre I will be officially presented at the Valdarno Jazz Festival (Gropina , fraction of Loro Ciuffenna, Arezzo - 17 July) and at the SEI Festival (Flying Castle of Corigliano d'Otranto - 19 July).
