“Count Ossie and The Rasta Family’s long lost reggae album digitally remastered and with full original artwork is a fascinating and successful blend of heavyweight Rastafarian roots rhythms and drumming alongside deep jazz improvisation and tripped out psychedelic fuzz guitar.
Recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, sometime after the last Mystic Revelation of Rastafari album, it remains unclear whether this album is a mixture of original recordings overlaid with additional players, or Ossie’s post Mystic Rvelation players remaining true to the spirit of Count Ossie (who had died in a car crash in 1976).
First released in 1983 on the British label Vista Sounds with no mention of the line-up of the group, Man From Higher Heights has been out of print for over 30 years and remains one of the most elusive and mysterious of all Count Ossie’s highly progressive Rastafarian inspired recordings, and the final release in his career.”
