Patrick Bale & the Pale Ales - Cheap Shot (2020)

After playing supporting roles in different kinds of bands throughout Chicago, Singer-Songwriter Patrick Bale and Drummer Eric "Gator" Iverson wanted to finally take control of the music they were playing. They wanted to strip the layers of excess away, start with a song and a beat, and make something raw, honest, and new.

With a goal of paying homage to the feel of old outlaw country music such as Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash as well taking inspiration from modern innovators in the Red-Dirt Scene like Turnpike Troubadours and Jason Isbell, the two got to writing. What came out of those sessions were a bunch of songs that were one part soft transparent stories and another part rockin' honky tonk music. a new sound they could call their own.

The duo's famous local shows of original material as well as covers from across the board drew the attention of bassist Rich Kvasnicka and skilled guitarist Bill Carroll who were welcomed with open arms. With their input and experience, the formation of the final lineup was complete.

Through the years, Patrick Bale learned by hitting bars and clubs solo and in other major country cover bands playing stages as big as Bub City, Niko's Tavern, and Reggie's Rock Club. Opening for acts like Granger Smith and Jake Dodds, Patrick learned what it took to not only put on a rockin' show together, but to do it in his own way

Now as a dedicated troupe, Patrick Bale & The Pale Ales are continuing to grow. The group has finally released their debut album "Cheap Shot" to the world and are hitting venues of all shapes and sizes to share their stories with the goal being to make their audiences feel the power of every chord, the pain in every phrase, and the fire in the sound of something new from boys with nothing to lose.
