The prospect of hearing Alina Ibragimova in two of the most important concertos written for the violin is in itself irresistibly enticing, but Shostakovich aficionados will also welcome an opportunity to hear the rarely performed original opening to the Burlesque of No 1, subsequently made less fearsome for the soloist at the request of the work’s dedicatee, David Oistrakh.

Unexpectedly hot ?!
You wish clearer or more magnificent ?
Almost there :p
About No. 1 my best is still beautiful Lisa Batiashvili or cool Hilary Hahn :)
Rare with modern orchestra, Hartmann, Roslavets, Huw Watkins ?
No. 1 is 1947 version, 1st for me, beginning of 4th movement starts with timpani and solo violin not orchestra :)
Jurowski is up to here from the volume of solo ?
Welcome hi-res on hyperion :))
Many thanks ^.^

Still number one - Vengerov, but Ibragimova is a new, fresh approach.
