After four successful studio albums in the last nine years, Philipp Fankhauser finally releases a live-in-concert recording of his performance for the opening evening of the 46th Montreux Jazz Festival in late June, 2012. This album in the meantime Philipp’s 13th! is already his favorite: This is how Fankhauser sounds “à la minute” a first in his extensive catalogue. Having been able to make the album in Montreux makes him even happier fulfilling a nearly 30 year old dream of Philipp. It was Claude Nobs’ express wish to produce and release the CD and DVD together with Philipp. In Autumn 2012 they sealed the deal with a handshake and brought it to life. Following Claude’s wish and philosophy, the sound has not been altered: it has been mixed for your listening pleasure and edited in length to fit the formats.
