Iris Romen - Late Bloomer (2020)

The singer, composer and musician from Maastricht in the Netherlands Multi-instrumentalist IRIS ROMEN started her career at the beginning of the last decade as singer of the Aachen band SEÑOR TORPEDO, with whom she recorded the two albums "Through Night Scenes" and "We Wanna Be From Sweden"
Based in Berlin since 2004, she first founded her BALLHAUSBAND, then became a member of RUNAWAY BRIDES and worked later together with ANDREJ HERMLIN & HIS SWING DANCE ORCHESTRA, MARK SCHEIBE, RAY COLLINS' HOT-CLUB, TELE, Lüül, Joy Denalane, Jesper Munk as well as BEN BECKER (for his
program "Den See")

In 2013, "Vintage Gal Hour" was released, the solo debut of the studied musician and winner of the Berlin Jazz Award. Now, with "Late Bloomer" there is finally a new musical sign of life for the artist.

Stylish accompanied by ALEXEY WAGNER (guitar) and MICHA FROMME (drums) the Berlin-by-choice moves full of authenticity and highly charismatic between Country, Blues, Honky Tonk, Doo Wop and classic songbook ballad. She describes the loves of her life and her attitude towards getting older in a poetic and humorous way, she illuminates the effects of social media and deals with the lack of willingness to accept the new age (and ability) of many people to empathize with the attitudes of others.
