Since he was famously discovered busking by Grammy Award-winning producer Martin Levan, this Devon-born singer songwriter has been quietly amassing a dedicated and passionate fan base.
Tristan's first studio album, Out Along The Wire, topped the iTunes Blues chart in 2012 and received acclaim from the music press. His carefully crafted follow-up album Wire & Wood is already receiving effusive praise and early airplay from Radio 2, hailing described it as brilliant and beautiful.
Drawing inspiration from blues, folk and soul music, Tristan has been compared to Jeff Buckley, John Mayer and Eric Clapton within the industry and has toured and guested extensively as support for Beth Hart, Rumer, Billy Bragg, The Proclaimers, Steve Harley, Robben Ford and Eric Johnson among others.
Tristan says of his new album, 'Wire & Wood is pared right back to the roots of my music. I hoped to capture the atmosphere of the best gig I could perform, drawing on all the live experiences I have had over the last few years. I have learned so much about where my strengths lie from those shows, and this is an intimate, emotionally raw and honest portrayal of my songs.'
'Love is a game that only the foolish play' is the poignant refrain marking the opening track from this Devonshire songsmith's sophomore opus. Yet it's a game we all become inevitably entangled in.
