On his new album, pianist Martin Stadtfeld presents a personal selection of piano pieces by Beethoven to mark the Beethoven Year 2020. "My Beethoven" was originally written as an "accompaniment" to a children's radio play production. The great joy of recording Beethoven's music led to the wish of all those involved in the production to listen to the recorded music "unspoken" and standing on its own. Martin Stadtfeld had intuitively selected the works and individual pieces for the radio play according to which Beethoven is particularly close to him.

He has recorded Beethoven's famous piano works, including a movement from the "Moonlight Sonata" and the "Pathétique", as well as his own arrangements of symphonic movements ("Eroica" and "Pastorale"). The album also contains Stadtfeld's own improvisations on Beethoven themes (Fantasie über ein Skizzenblatt Beethovens). Thus Stadtfeld brings "his Beethoven" before his eyes and ears - the Beethoven he loves most: that of youth, lightness, clarity, searching, optimism and introspection.
