Stephane Grappelli - Grappelli with strings (2020)

This Grappelli box set of 37 titles, including 23 previously unreleased, celebrates the friendship of the violinist with the pianist, composer, arranger and conductor Gérard Gustin. A first album, entirely new, produced by Sacha Distel in 1970, allows Stéphane to be heard in a "stringed" context. A setting that suits this gentleman of the violin perfectly. The two quartet sessions in the second volume present another aspect of the discographic collaboration between the two men, which spanned nearly ten years. As a bonus, a new unprecedented session in 1961 quintet, accompanied by guitarist Pierre Cullaz.
