Albert Collins & The Icebreakers – 1979 & 1983 (SBD & AUD – with Champion Jack Dupree, & Rory Gallagher guesting – from Liberated Bootleg “Jammin’ With Albert”, Blues Tone label – 76 Total Minutes Long) July 1979 Montreux, Switzerland, & July 22, 1983 Nyon, Switzerland
Not A Contrast Clause: Previously a recording containing the 1983 (with Rory Gallagher) portion was offered here on Dime in 2007, & I believe was RESEEDed in 2009 & 2012, but I may be wrong.
I believe those offers are the same as the two tracks here, but there is no mention of their origin, except for from CDR. I’m offering a direct rip (DAE with EAC) from my Silver Disc.
The 1979 portion here is not from the Officially Released 1979 Live recording. That recording is from December 28, 1978 (some say February 2, 1978) “Het Wapen Van Heemskerk”, Alkmaar, Holland.
That recording was his first live appearance outside of the United States, released on Munich Records. He recorded that with a different band that he is here with, that was a Durch band (Barrelhouse: Jan Willem Sligting, bass; Bob Dros, drums; Guus Laporte, guitar; Johnny Laporte, guitar; Han van Dam, piano; Tony Vos, Alto Saxophone; Tineke Schoemaker, vocals)
This is not a RESEED, but is a newly prepared 2013 offer.
Enjoy!!!
