The Soul of Broadway reinterprets and reimagines favorite classic and contemporary Broadway songs in a fresh new way that crosses genres of soul, pop, jazz, and gospel. The 10 track offering features a 90's take on "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd, "Something's Coming" from Westside Story, sonically inspired by a mix of Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars and a stripped down anthemic rendition of "Tomorrow" from Annie, to name a few. The Soul of Broadway takes the stories of the songs outside of the Broadway musical and makes them relevant to everybody no matter where they are in life. The creative producing team, Mark Vogel with Sylvia MacCalla and Terron Brooks turn the songs on their head in a rebellious, unique way in sound and style that feels completely original.
