South City Revival - Where There's Smoke, There's Fire (2020)

With their latest release, "Where There's Smoke, There's Fire”, South City Revival aims to put “Chicago Americana” on the map. The new album, the band's first full length effort, is at its core an exploration of country and roots rock music. Drawing on the energy and story-telling from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Brooks & Dunn, Tom Petty, and Steve Earle, South City Revival has struck a balance that is uniquely their own.

Fate brought Southside musicians Joe Pacelli (vocals/acoustic guitar), John Quinn (electric guitar), Mike Fitzgerald (bass), Jose "Pino" Perez (drums), and Brendan Linnane (guitar/pedal steel) together in a Western Ave. bar parking lot on a cold and snowy night. Although some of their musical journeys had crossed paths before, after discussing influences and ambitions, they agreed the path forward was together.

Since forming in 2016, the band has spent their time crafting songs and honing their live shows - headlining venues throughout the midwest and supporting bands such as Sister Hazel, Reckless Kelly, A Thousand Horses, Little Texas, Vandoliers and The Black Lillies. In early 2017, South City Revival teamed up with Chicago engineer/producer, Mike Hagler (Wilco, Waco Brothers, OK Go) to record their self-titled, debut EP at his Humboldt Park studio: Kingsize Sound Labs

In the summer of 2017, the band co-founded Country on Western Music Festival on the Southwest side of Chicago with local pub owners Bernard and Mary Callaghan. The festival has highlighted local talent as well as a handful of national touring acts including Carson McHone, Angela Perley, and Pat Reedy. 2020’s festival is to be headlined by Jamie Lin Wilson.

2018 saw South City Revival embark on 85 live dates across the Midwest - all while each member maintained full time employment: the dreaded day job. After various obstacles and setbacks in early 2019, the band finally reconvened with Hagler on their recent effort, "Where There's Smoke, There's Fire”. “We’re eager to hit the road in support of the album,” said Pacelli.
