Ex-Kraftwerk percussionist Wolfgang Flur's celebrated solo works anthology, "Eloquence", is re-issued for its 5th Anniversary as a limited edition with an exclusive bonus remixes disc, "Club Eloquence", containing a diversity of creative, international electronic re-works of the original key album tracks "Beat Perfecto" and "Pleasure Lane". These two albums, packaged together in a fold out digi-pack with a 20 page booklet insert, are a fitting and comprehensive 34 track tribute to electronic music pioneer Wolfgang Flür’s acclaimed solo career to date.
“Eloquence - The Complete Works” remains the definitive retrospective compilation of Wolfgang Flür’s solo electronic pop output from 2002 to the present day. It was in 1973 that Flür, with his then musical partner in Kraftwerk, Florian Schneider, developed the world’s first electric drum pads board for their recordings and stage performances.
The “Eloquence” album starts with his sung autobiography, ‘I Was A Robot’, a No.6 hit on the German Club charts. Whereas Kraftwerk were known for their stripped down arrangements, Flür overlays lush melodies that fuse elements of electronica, Krautrock, dance music and spoken word into one truly timeless and innovative album. Flür states, “If Kraftwerk played minimal electro, then I now play maximal electro.”
‘Cover Girl’, was intended as Wolfgang’s Mk.II to Kraftwerk’s ‘The Model’, “a story to follow the mannequin’s career... unfortunately, to her end!”. Since 2004, Flür has been presenting house, industrial and electro music worldwide in clubs and at festivals as ‘Musik Soldat’. This led to some of the amazing electronic collaborations which are gathered together on “ELOQUENCE”.
Flür’s collaboration with Bon Harris (Nitzer Ebb) produced the track ‘Axis of Envy’ and working with Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto produced ‘Staying In The Shadow’. Flür also co-operated with Anni Hogan (Marc & The Mambas) on the delicate and affecting closing track ‘Golden Light’. Wolfgang’s collaborations are as global as his stature; ‘Moda Makina (Fashion Machine)’ having been created with Ramón Amezcua of Mexican band Nortec Collective. The album’s international credentials are furthered through the inclusion of German versions of ‘Cover Girl’ and ‘On The Beam’ and a Japanese version of ‘On The Beam’ sung by ex-Pizzicato Five’s vocalist Nomiya Maki.
The bonus disc, "Club Eloquence".
