Christoph Ehrenfellner - Mozart: Divertimento, K. 563 (2011/2020)

“Divertimento” means “amusement.” But other than everything that bears “fun” in a title of a Mozart work, this amusement is “joy of life,” rather, joy of music included, as these three individuals amuse themselves, each other, and the listener. Mozart was 32 years old when he wrote his only completed string trio, "Ein Divertimento à 1 violino, 1 viola e violoncello: di sei Pezzi,“ into his own list of works on 27th September 1788 and only twice that Mozart heard this piece, once each in 1789 and 1790; Ehrenfellner, Lermer & Rummel picked up the composer’s spirit and brought his smile into modern-day Mozarthaus, Vienna’s museum dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
