03. Mørten Sondergaard - Sahara I Mine Mænder 04:22
04. Ron Boots - Far Boundaries 09:19
Delectable first instalment of Stroom’s highly promising new/old ambient comp series, racking laidback cuts by the legendary Jo Bogaert and more circa 1993-1996
As one of the architects of European dance-pop, Jo Bogaert’s sublimely drowsy ‘Ambient Kinsky’ is of big interest as he head in an entirely different direction to ‘Pump Up The Jam’, suspending sample of Klaus Kinski in a lushly brooding ambient piece only a few years later. The EOP is also noteworthy for highlighting the work of Dutch synthesist Ron Boots in the richly atmospheric, laminal flows of lilting percussion and FSOL-esque pads on the 12’ beauty ‘Lachrymation’ (1994) and the Tangerine Dream/Popol Duh-Like scope of ‘Far Boundaries’ (1994), along with the shimmering, Muslimgauze-meets-Goodiepal-style ambient Fata Morgana of ‘Sahara’ (1996) by Denmark’s Mørten Sondergaard.
