Born in Vienna, Austria, in December 1968, Georg Weidinger studied medicine and psychology at the University of Vienna, receiving his medical degree in 1995, classical piano, composition and computermusic at the Vienna Conservatory for Music and at the University for Music of Vienna, degree with destinction 1996. In the last years, he attracted attention mainly as a composer for piano, vocal, ensemble and electro-acoustic music. He was the first Austrian to win the Luigi Russolo International Competition for Composition, Varese, Italy, in 1996 and 1998.
Several CD- productions as a pianist (labels: extraplatte, ORF/Ö1; klaviermusik.at); conductor of his own pieces; since 1991 regular concerts as a solo pianist in the field of jazz, blues, contemporary, classical repertoir; cooperations with international jazz musicians. Georg Weidinger is the author of the bestseller „Die Heilung der Mitte, Die Kraft der Trad. Chin. Medizin“, which is the most-sold book about Traditional Chinese Medicine in Germany and Austria.
Georg Weidinger lives with his wife Sandra and the three children Daniel, Lena, and Hannah, their four dogs and several chicken free lancing as a physician, writer, pianist and composer in Forchtenstein/ Burgenland, Austria.
