Jake Bristow - Perspective (2020)

Jake Bristow is a charismatic and engaging singer and pianist who will be sure to make you laugh with his quick wit and move you with carefully selected repertoire. With a strong jazz influence, tasteful pop sensibility and entertaining persona, he is one versatile musician!

Since graduating from the Jazz Music Institute in 2014, Jake has been performing non-stop all over the east coast, several international gigs and is in the process of releasing his debut album that was recorded in January. As a frequently gigging jazz musician, Jake has presented many of his own shows at venues such as JMI Live, The Brisbane Jazz Club and Doo-bop Jazz Bar as well as sharing the band stand with various well renown Jazz Musicians. Artists include: Bruce Woodward, Melissa Forbes, Helen Russell, Jamie Clark, David Sanders, Paul Hudson, Melissa Western, David Theak (SYD) and Charlotte Mclean to name a few. Jazz influences include piano/vocal greats such as Jamie Cullum, Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr.

Jake is a versatile musician who is also a principal keys player and vocalist for many pop/rock bands and corporate/weddings bands. Bands include: SaVvy Band, Bassline Studios Band, The Redtie Band, Mckenzie Band and is soon start playing with Lisa Hunt on her national summer tour later this year.

Most recently Jake has been building his entertainment skills through his piano bar gigs where he makes people laugh, sing-along and encourages the audience to have a cracking time! Currently he has a Wednesday residency at Press Club and a Thursday residency at XCARGO, both situated in Fortitude Valley.

Tertiary Educational Achievements include a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Piano from the Jazz Music Institute (2012 - 2014) and a Graduate Certificate in Jazz Voice from the QLD Conservatorium (2016).
