After playing with great artists like Gaby Amarantos, Lya Soares and Lia Sophia, instrumentalist Kim Freitas presents his first solo work, “Nascente”, on show this Wednesday, 2nd, at Sesc Ver-O-Peso. The instrumental music album, which will be released on physical media in December, will have eight tracks, influenced by Amazonian music and American jazz. For the show, Kim Freitas guarantees that there will also be many surprises for the audience, such as the presentation of some songs that will not be on the CD. “The big difference of this presentation for others is the entry of new songs that have not been in previous shows , like 'Samba Meu' and 'Estrela' and the use of my voice as an instrument. I solfect in the songs, something I didn't do on the album, it gives a different sound to the previous songs ”, he explains. Kim will be accompanied by Jonatas Gouveia (double bass), Duda Silva (drums) and Erivelton Santos (keyboard). Despite having played the songs live for about a year now, Kim is preparing for the presentation with special participations with Eraldo Santos on percussion, Rodrigo Camarão on the keyboard and Toninho Gonçalves on the saxophone. “The songs had already been conceived, but were still in the process of musical production. In the meantime with an active life in music, I put my presentations into practice. Then the compositions took on the exact shape of the one on the disc. In the studio I was putting the arrangements and concluding. The songs have been composed for a long time, ”he explains. According to the composer,‘ Nascente ’presents a mix of various musical influences. “All compositions have some African percussion trait, something that also refers to our region with the sound of the forest, the thing of the forest Indian, and that rhythmically speaking, but the concept of harmony comes from American jazz. I made this mix with Brazilian music, it has a zouk, samba, ballad, a little American jazz in the middle, all this mix inspired by Mini Paulo Medeiros, Adalbert Carneiro and Nei Conceição. I rely a lot on their sound, ”he declared.Kim has played with groups and composers known for their experience in instrumental music, such as Amazônia Jazz Band, Tinoco Costa and Nelson Neves, as well as participation in music festivals outside Belém. The album also featured with special appearances by nationally and internationally recognized musicians such as Luiz Pardal, Jacinto Kahwage, Adelbert Carneiro, Elias Coutinho, Paulo Calazans, Thiago do Espírito Santo, Lia Sofia, Simone Almeida, Cláudio Rocha, Sandro Albert and Marco Bosco. He points out that music instrumental in Belém is very fruitful. “I have always had Belém musicians as a reference. The instrumental music scene is very strong and active, there are some musical references that are from the 80's and 90's, such as Kzam Gama, Caliber, Minni Paulo, Pandora group and Chama group. These older guys who opened the doors and were the pioneers. I always had them as references and I was always very passionate about instrumental music, I had these guys as heroes ”, he emphasized.
