Proulx, a Grammy Award-winning composer, presents a fresh take on a number of standards as well as some compelling original compositions. The selections and arrangements offer a wide variety of musical styles in this recording: from jazz, folk and hip-hop to Brazilian, contemporary jazz and pop. The overlay of different musical styles combined with the jazz-influenced arrangements make for a great blend. Co-producing the recording with Proulx is Grammy Award winning arranger Bill Cunliffe, who also appears as a guest pianist on one track. The recording also features a wonderful duet with vocalist Michael Feinstein on the Johnny Mercer/Bobby Darin composition "Two of a Kind."
