Benign Paroxysmal Postural Vertigo (BPPV) is a disorder caused by problems in the inner ear. Its symptoms are repeated episodes of postural vertigo, that is, of a spinning sensation caused by changes in the position of the head, plus a huge number of psychedelic visual effects.

The title of the cd and the whole concept of this album occurred to the Italian guitarist Walter Beltrami, who suffered that disorder for six months and wrote the music of his new project during that time. The vertigo has been naturally involved in his tracks and so becomes the metaphor of the process of any artistic creation, where losing everything is known represents the necessity to get rid of some old cliche and to be really fresh and responsive to the new.

The ten compositions featured in the CD translate the BPPV into music, using a very powerful rock sound and a continuous crisscrossing of different counterpoint melodic lines, unpredictable melodies and improvisations. Beltrami has achieved an impressive impact in terms of energy and groove, keeping at the same time great lyricism and poetry as to represent the order after the chaos and the recovered balance after the vertigo attacks.
The guitarist is the author of all the tracks and the arrangements of Paroxysmal Postural Vertigo, his fourth work as leader, that comes after all the positive opinions gained from critics for the previous works.

He has been supported in searching for a precise sound by some great improvisers and musicians such as Francesco Bearzatti, Stomu Takeishi and Jim Black. This quartet will destabilize the listener!
