Kev Walford - Americanarama (2020)

Kev Walford-Singer/Songwriter, originally from Liverpool-and formed his 1st band “South Cheyenne” in 1967 together with Stan Alexander, Ray Blease + Derek Marl and with their unique harmony sound built up a great following in the North West of England. This same line-up later became “Silk” when they signed to major record label C.B.S.Records/April Music, released 4 x singles and toured extensively. This was back in the days when the record companies paid for everything too….whatever happened to those wonderful days?????

Kev then relocated to Suffolk and became a part of the Suffolk Songwriters group run by well respected musician Andy Heasman. Andy introduced Kev to a lot of other writers and singers on the scene there, doing regular gigs together and building up a body of new songs.

For the last 3 years Kev has been collaborating, gigging and recording with local singer Kelly Bayfield where they have started to build up a great reputation in the East of England. Kelly has now embarked on a solo career and Kev has just released a new album in his own right.

Kev’s music can best be described as Americana/Folk with maybe a touch of Cajun and Country thrown into the mix-but always with an ear out for harmonies...the more the better!!! . As a duo they’ve so far released 2 x ep’s-Acoustic Sessions # 1 and Acoustic Sessions # 2, and their 1st album-"Walkin". They’ve so far had an outstanding journey together gigging all over Suffolk and Norfolk and occasionally venturing out into Essex and Cambridgeshire also, including being the opening act on the main stage at FolkEast, playing the Cambridge Folk Festival, and Ipswich Music Day, and have been supported by the legendary Stephen Foster, BBC Suffolk, who has had them guesting on his Drive Time show on BBC Radio.. Early in 2019 Kev released a 5 track e.p. "89% Eskimo" featuring local legend Reb Capper, and has just released a new 13 track c.d. "Americanarama" - a songwriting tour de force.
