Nearly three years after the release of his debut album In Spaces, Haring returns with Blurred, to be released on his own label City Tracks. This record is the product of a period spent touring, absorbing influences and probing new creative explorations, Haring defines it as ‘the album of sedentariness’. Indeed, Blurred was produced over 8 months exclusively in his home studio in Brussels after finishing travelling and playing shows.
With stunning tracks such as ‘Exhale’ and ‘Community’, Yann Attia produced a record that undoubtedly represents a stylistic advancement from his previous work. This new album features Marc Melià’s vocoder voice on the wistful song Eternity as well as Gabriel Stebbing’s (aka Night Works) vocals and his old crackling piano on Disappearing.
Panning out like a story, Haring explores new themes by transforming his reflections about his daily life into music. ‘I’d been making music on the road for years. For concerts but also for my personal travels. For the first time, I wanted to give myself an unlimited amount of time here in Brussels without travelling or playing gigs. I wanted to see what it was like to talk about my daily life, my city, my relationships, my neighbourhood,... I think I managed to convey all these emotions in this record and to push back the boundaries of what I could produce.’
