Poor Earth Have Christmas Peace - Female student singing association has sung the CD for income for people on the run. 10, - NOK of each sold CD goes to the TV campaign - Refugee Aid, and helps support the Refugee Aid's work for people on the run. Poor Earth's Christmas Peace contains both classic Christmas songs and some that are not so well known. The whole thing was beautifully performed under the knowledgeable direction of conductor Marit Tøndel Bodsberg. Christmas is a holiday where we want to be together in joy and security. Unfortunately, this is not an opportunity for everyone. About 45 million people today are fleeing war and conflict. More than half are women and children. With 2600 employees in 20 countries, the Norwegian Refugee Council is Norway's largest humanitarian organization internationally. We work for more people to escape a better and safer life. The Christmas song tradition is rich, and everyone has one or more songs they associate with that special Christmas mood. On "Poor Earth Have Christmas Peace" we have selected a bunch of our favorite songs. Most of the songs are familiar and dear Christmas songs, but we have also included treasures that may be unknown to many. Some of the songs are set to Norwegian folk tones, and others are taken from the hymn book. LAWO Classics and the Female Student Song Association will bring this beautiful church music to the thousands of homes. Organizer Tone Krohn has helped revitalize the songs, and bassist Sigurd Hole adds new dimensions to the music both musically and sonically by covering the deep octaves the female voice cannot sing.
