Casablancais dans l'âme, Abderrahman Elhafid (dit Mr. ID) est un artiste qui a du cœur et des tripes. Avec ses vinylescomme outils et son vécu comme inspiration, Mr. ID a effectué un long pèlerinage à l'international où il a vécu et absorbé les beats du Rap US, la spiritualité du Jazz et les rythmes engageants du Funk. Des influences qui ont fondé son background, et qui ont été le principal tronc de ses créations musicales des années durant. De retour au pays, il a redécouvert la magie des notes traditionnelles du patrimoine marocain et africain, qu'il a subtilement intégré dans les pistes qu'il crée. Les rythmes dansants sont escortés par de somptueuses mélodies au violon, des percussions africaines mouvementées et des chants d'un âge révolu du fin fond des montagnes de l'Atlas. Une première du genre qui est devenue sa signature. En écoutant ses musiques, l'on ressent les échos de tout un continent retentir au creux de son âme, tels les chants unis des peuples d'Afrique criant leur IDentité. Une expérience musicale inédite qui ne laisse personne indifférent.
Deeply linked to the city of Casablanca, Abderrahman Elhafid (AKA Mr. ID) is an artist who got a lot of heart and guts. With his vinyl as tools and his personal life as inspiration, Mr. ID made a long international pilgrimage, taking in US Rap beats, Jazz spirituality and funk rhythms. Those influences became the foundation of his musical background, and served as the main body of his music creation for years. When he made it back to Morocco, he rediscovered the magic of the traditional Moroccan and African notes. Mr. ID started to implement them in his music: the beats are mixed with delicious violin airs, African percussions and vocals from a long gone age that the Atlas Mountains still bear witness to. A first in the genre that became his signature. The vibes coming out of Mr.ID’s tracks brings up a mixture made of the history and music of the whole African Continent. As if all of the African people were joining their voices to scream their IDentity.
