The recording session was so enjoyable that extend a member as sextet. Tomonao his leadership is not to offer a carte blanche to the members, but specify the direction where we are heading and take its responsibility. His stance is practically something like “you guys play as you like it and my job is to catch up and support”. He loves the thrill of accidental phases as we play in this way.
He tends to consider the information written on the score is limited. It is like a rough map to read the score, and the musicians, the conductors, and bandleaders construct music through their own sense regardless whether it is classical or jazz or even rock universally. Above all, what I really love is to play with freedom. It is the core value of music art for him. That’s why He care the environment with freedom for everybody in the studio.
This is his 2nd private album and all composed by him and his members.
