Steve Kolbus and the Clarksdale Blues Revue - Boom Boom Boom (Remixed and Remastered) (2020)

This remixed and remastered 10 year anniversary edition of Steve Kolbus and the Clarksdale Blues Revue's first CD contains a soul bearing mix of a variety of blues including Some traditional Delta blues, hard rockin blues, West Coast swing blues, acoustic blues, and classic slow blues. Some of the songs are very catchy and nearly all of songwriter Steve Kolbus's songs have a strong memorable hook to them. Blues Radio Jock Paul Wilson of Clarksdale's WROX radio once noted that many of Kolbus's songs "have a Jimmy Reed style feel to them." There is a good reason for that as Kolbus's mentor Chicago harmonica legend Little Arthur Duncan was taught how to play the hrmonica by Jimmy Reed and Little Walter and was very heavily influenced by Reed's style of play. One song on the CD "Hooters" was actually written to make Little Arthur Laugh on his death bed. In addition to Reed and Duncan, Kolbus's early music is steeped with his other early influences as well; including Ike Turner, William Clarke, Rod Piazza, and BB King.
