A passionate homage to the music of Renato Carosone, who died aged 81 in 2001, by the Neapolitan master of the frame drums, Nando Citarella, with his group Tamburi del Vesuvio.
Renato Carosone, a performer of Canzone Napoletana (a traditional form of music sung in the Neapolitan language), was among the greatest figures of Italian music scene in the second half of the 20th century. Citarella's reinterpretation of these songs draws on the youthful strength of musical folk traditions and catchy rhythms so that the classic pieces from the past have been infused with new life and vigour.
