Timothy Williams is a multi award winning composer best known for his work on Brightburn, Get Out, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Deadpool 2, Hobbs and Shaw, Butterfly Circus and Robert Duvall's Wild Horses. A graduate of the National Film and Television School, Williams has won numerous awards and currently holds over 110 feature film credits.
From an early age, Timothy Williams was always captivated by film scores, especially of the scores of Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, John Williams and more recently John Powell. At age 16, filmmaker Paul Almond came to Tim's school to film Prep School. Paul heard Tim playing and asked him to write amaterial for the film and Tim was hooked. Tim studied at the National Film and Television School in England, the UCLA Film Extention and attended the ASCAP film scoring workshop, where he was mentored by James Newton Howard.
When Tim moved to Hollywood, he discovered his neighbor was also a composer - Tyler Bates. They formed an instant friendship and Tim has orchestrated for Tyler ever since, writing additonal music on many of his scores. Tyler has been a major influence and mentor to Tim over the last decade.
Williams work includes films Brightburn, produced by James Gunn and starring Elizabeth Banks; Wild Horses, directed by Robert Duvall; We Summon The Darkness, directed by Marc Meyers, which won the best score award at ScreamfestLA 2019; Piney, starring Simon Pegg and Jonathan Pryce, Walking with the Enemy, starring Ben Kingsley; I.T. directed by John Moore, starring Pierce Brosnan; Diablo, starring Scott Eastwood; The Butterfly Circus, starring Doug Jones, which won over 35 Best Picture awards; Beyond All Boundaries, the Tom Hanks produced WWII documentary; and Red Sky, for which Tim Williams was nominated Best Composer by Motion Picture Sound Editors and best score at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. He has received two Motion Picture SE Golden Reel Award nominations (Red Sky), four Thea Award wins, 10 ASCAP Plus Awards and won best score at the 24FPS Festival (Butterfly Circus), best score at ScreamfestLA 2019 (We Summon The Darkness) and best score nomination at the HMMA Awards (Red Sky).
He contributed additional music and programming on Get Out!, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Hobbs and Shaw, Deadpool 2, 300, Watchmen, Super, Sucker Punch, Doomsday, Conan the Barbarian, Shark Night 3D and The Spy Who Dumped Me.
Williams has also conducted all the above films, as well as Christopher Robin, It and It2, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation and Darkest Minds.
Tim recently co-scored AMC/Shudder Creepshow, directed by Greg Nicotero, which has a 96% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and broke AMC's records for both viewships and new subscriptions. He scored the Fox pilot Richard Lovely, and wrote additonal music on Fox's The Exorcist (S2), ABC's Missing and Comedy Network's Sym Bionic Titan. He orchestrates S.W.A.T, Castle, and Whispers.
Tim has scored and arranged over 50 shows for Disney and Universal Stuios. Recent highlights include Jurrasic World Live Tour, and the Opening of Shanghai Disneyland, which became Hurry Home for World of Color. His musical NAPOLEON, has played in London's West End (Shaftesbury Theater), New York (Signature Theater), Canada (Elgin Theater) and most recently in Korea (Charlotte Theater)
