Slovenian downtempo band YGT presents Sinking Ship Remixed, a kaleidoscopic re-imagining of their critically acclaimed 2019 album Sinking Ship.

In conjunction with label partners Youngbloods and King Deluxe, band leaders Gregij Kocijančič and Fejzo Košir celebrate the one-year anniversary of their sun-streaked sophomore epic by selecting ten artists to create a topsy-turvy rendition from top to bottom. Katifram (the new alias of RX:TX & Prrrrrrr artist Persian Empire), Sound Pellegrino’s Matthias Zimmermann, Youngbloods and King Deluxe mainstays Kratos Himself and Alphabets Heaven counter the original melancholy haze with propulsive energy, broken rhythms, and bubbling grooves. In contrast, the ambient remix from Israeli singer/songwriter Zoe Polanski nuzzles comfortably alongside a smooth, crooning cover from Slovenian singer Tschimy and the slow drip, atmospheric experiments of Josip Klobucar, Koloah, Aten Rays, and Ikotu.

Known for warm, glistening Indie inclinations and shadowed self-portraits on their 2016 debut The Watercolors (King Deluxe), YGT introduced a more dynamic approach to song writing with 2019’s Sinking Ship, displaying a stylistic multiplicity that coalesced into verbose vistas of willowing Post-Pop. Slinking ballads featured drawled vocals on top of double-jointed instrumentals, resulting in a fluid body of Electronica that experimented with uptempo accessibility and delicately wove in contrasting blends of sedated Trip-Hop and Jazz to create a constantly shifting mosaic.

Accompanying the original album was an acclaimed immersive short film by NYC-based animator Sam Mason set to the title track. Quickly receiving Vimeo Staff Pick, the surreal vision painted a harsh desert world inhabited by several races witnessing the appearance of a gigantic, ominous hand, playing upon the subtle warning about climate change harbored by the lyrics.
